HANOVER, Indiana - Sophomore goalkeeper Sari Stissi kept the game scoreless for over 80 minutes, but Hanover College's Cassidy Evanson scored the game's only goal in the 85th minute as the Panthers edged the Earlham College women's soccer team 1-0 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) action on Wednesday afternoon.
Stissi picked up 10 of her 18 saves in the first half on 14 Hanover shots. Senior Kelsey Moore fired Earlham's two shots in the first half with one of them being on net.
The Panthers, who had beaten the Quakers 7-0 the last three seasons, held Earlham to no shots in the second half before scoring the game's only goal on a shot from the top of the box.
Stissi improved her goals against average to 1.52 on the season along with her save percentage to .836.
Earlham dips to 6-9-0 overall and 2-4-0 in HCAC play. The Quakers return to Matlack-Messer Stadium on Saturday for a 1 p.m. game against league-leader Franklin College as part of Homecoming Weekend.
