RICHMOND, Indiana – The Earlham women's tennis team improved to 4-4 on the season with a 7-2 victory over Ohio Christian this Friday. The Quakers have not won four matches in a season since 2013-2014.
The match started off tight and the Quakers faced an early deficit after falling at first doubles. Junior Yunjoo Shin and freshman Alexandra Canaday secured an 8-2 victory at second doubles to bring the match to 1-1. Third doubles was won by default.
In singles, Earlham came out strong and won five out of the six matches. Seniors Arrita Domi and Lexi Aligarbes picked up wins at first and fourth singles respectively. This was Aligarbes first career singles win. Shin and junior Robyn Thomas won at third and fifth singles. Sixth singles was won by default.
The Quakers will be back in action at home this Wednesday against conference rival Defiance College. The match will begin at 4:30 p.m.
