Shin and Canaday Garner Honorable Mention All-HCAC Honors

GREENWOOD, Indiana – The Earlham College women's tennis team placed two on the All-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) teams, released by the conference on Tuesday.

Junior Yunjoo Shin and freshman Alexandra Canaday were named Honorable Mention All-HCAC for their efforts in leading the Quakers to the program's first HCAC Tournament berth in 2017.

Shin compiled a 12-2 record in singles with a 4-1 mark at second singles and an 8-1 record at third singles. She was also 7-6 in doubles playing primarily at second doubles.

Canaday, Shin's doubles partner for the majority of the season, finished 6-7 in singles competition playing all but one match at fourth singles. She was also named to the HCAC's Sportsmanship team.

Earlham finished its 2017 season with a 7-8 overall record and a 2-5 mark in conference play. The Quakers, who tallied their highest wins total since the 2008 campaign, advanced to the HCAC Tournament quarterfinals.
