RICHMOND, Ind. – Earlham College outside hitter Sarah Dickman averaged 3.06 kills per set and hit .246 over 18 sets in five matches while leading Earlham volleyball to a 4-1 record last week, and was rewarded on Monday with Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week honors.
Dickman opened the week by recording a season-high 15 kills in Earlham's four-set win over archrival Wilmington College (Ohio) with one block assist.
Over the weekend, Dickman logged seven and eight kills respectively in matches against Albion College (W, 3-0) and IU Southeast (L, 3-1) on day one of Earlham's Quaker Classic tournament; she came back even stronger on day two with 14 kills while hitting .367 with a solo block against Marietta College (W, 3-1), followed by 11 kills and a .296 hitting pct. and a service ace in the tourney closer against Spalding University (W, 3-0).
Earlham volleyball is currently 6-4 overall after picking up three wins over the weekend in the Quaker Classic.
The Quakers host Central State University (Ohio) on Wednesday, Sept. 18, at 7:00 p.m. at the Druley Performance Gym, before heading out this weekend to compete in the Illinois Wesleyan Invitational in Bloomington, Ill.
