RICHMOND, Ind. – Three members of the Earlham College volleyball team earned recognition for their efforts during the 2019 season. Senior Lauren Jackson (Tonganoxie, Kan./Tonganoxie) and sophomore Caroline Mulvihill (Monrovia, Calif./Monrovia) were named HCAC All-Conference First Team. Junior Julia Stewart (Seattle, Wash./Chief Sealth) was named HCAC Honorable Mention.
Jackson finished second in Earlham volleyball history with 4, 113 career assists. She also ranked second in the conference with 9.64 assists per set this season. Jackson finished her career with 9.72 assists per set. She played in all 29 matches of the season and compiled 298 digs.
Mulvihill appeared in all 29 matches for the season while totaling 345 kills which ranked sixth in the HCAC. Mulvihill averaged 2.59 kills per set. She accumulated 292 digs for the season for 2.73 digs per set. Mulvihill also tallied 33 assists as an outside hitter for the Quakers.
Stewart played in 28 of the Quakers 29 matches and accumulated 280 kills which ranked 15th in the HCAC. Stewart averaged 2.89 kills per set. She ranked 14th in the HCAC as she amassed 324 digs for the season. This was an average of 3.34 digs per set.
Earlham completed the season with a 20-9 record and reached the HCAC Championship last weekend. The Quakers reached the HCAC Championship weekend for the second straight season after losing in the semifinal round last year. This year's win total matched last year's win total and the most wins since the 1991 season with 22.
