Women's Cross Country Takes Second at Wittenberg Invitational

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – The Earlham College women's cross country team finished runner-up at the Wittenberg University Invitational on Saturday.

Denison University won the invitational with 33 team points and placing three individuals inside the top five. The Quakers finished with 42 points while the host Tigers had 49 points.

Freshman Ana Sosa-Ebert was the top Quaker to finish as she placed third with a time of 20:0.9 in the five-kilometer race. Fellow freshman Ellie Haland (20:37.9) and junior Rachel Wilkins (20:39.2) had mile paces fourth tenths of a second from each other in sixth and seventh place finishes respectively.

The Quakers rounded out their top five finishers with freshman Mairead Blatner in 11th place and junior Leah Johnson in 16th.

Earlham has a week off before traveling to Purdue University for the Indiana Intercollegiate Meet on Friday, Sept. 15.
