WXC’s Sosa-Ebert takes first in Quaker Bowl meet

Ana Sosa-Ebert and Mairead Blatner lead the pack for Earlham in the Quaker Bowl 4K.

RICHMOND, Ind. – Earlham sophomore Ana Sosa-Ebert clocked a time of 15:58.8 over 4K to take first place in the 2018 Quaker Bowl women's cross country meet against Wilmington College (Ohio), Friday evening on the Earlham campus.

Sosa-Ebert led Earlham to a 1-2-3-4 finish in the event, and a 16-40 win over the visiting Ohio Quakers.

Remy Haggerty (16:46.1) was second overall and the top freshman runner in the meet. Mairead Blatner (16:51.7) and Ellie Haland (16:57.6) completed the top-four finish for Earlham.

Freshman Katie Hughes (17:28.3) was Wilmington's top finisher, crossing the line in fifth place.

Earlham women's cross country returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 15, when the Quakers head to Shelbyville, Ind., to compete in the Manchester Blue River Memorial Park Invitational.
