EC Faces Nationally-Ranked Franklin

RICHMOND, Ind. — The Earlham College football team faced nationally-ranked Franklin College Saturday in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference contest at Darrell Beane Stadium.

The Grizzlies (8-1, 7-0), No. 22 in the latest D3football.com national poll, won 55-0 to claim their second straight conference title.

Earlham quarterback Dorian Jenkins (Indianapolis, IN, Arlington) completed 11-of-25 passes for 108 yards.

Jaysn Murphy (Winchester, IN, Winchester) led the Quakers with four receptions for 59 yards. Kaleb Lingg (Dayton, OH, Northridge) had three grabs for 30 yards.

Woody Earls (New Lebanon, OH, Dixie) had 40 yards rushing to go with two catches for 13 yards.

Dorian Stroud (South Bend, IN, Adams) led the Earlham defense with 11 tackles. Collin Draine (Trotwood, OH, Trotwood-Madison) finished with eight tackles. while Seth Shipley (Springfield, OH, Springfield Shawnee) added seven stops.

Franklin scored three times in the first quarter and then eventually led 41-0 at the half finished the scoring with a pair of touchdowns in the third period.

The Quakers (0-9, 0-7) finish the season at home next Saturday as they entertain the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in a HCAC contest.

The Battle of the Borders Broadsword gets underway at 1:30 p.m.
