Box Score

RICHMOND, Ind. – The Earlham offense racked up 196 rushing yards, but the Franklin Grizzlies scored 54 first-half points en route to an 80-19 victory over the Quakers at Darrell Beane Stadium on Saturday.

Franklin (4-2, 4-0 HCAC) scored on the first play from scrimmage, a 39-yard touchdown pass from Chase Burton to Lee Wroblewski. Earlham responded, however, with a 78-yard touchdown drive culminated by a 16-yard scamper from sophomore quarterback Wesley Hundley.

Hundley would score two more touchdowns, a 3-yard run and a 10-yard pass to senior wide receiver Jalen Kenner, in the first half. The Grizzlies would not be stopped, however, as Burton finished the first half 16-16 with 327 yards and six touchdowns.

The Grizzlies would score 26 unanswered points in the second half.

Hundley finished with 268 of Earlham's 350 yards. Freshman Sam Panton had 15 carries for 81 yards. Sophomore Marcaus Cooper finished with six receptions for 68 yards. Kenner added five receptions for 40 yards and a touchdown. The game marked Kenner's 35th consecutive contest with a reception, breaking the program's previous record of 34 held by Scott Peasley from 1989-92.

Defensively, sophomore Ishmael McNeil led the way with 12 tackles including seven solo takedowns.

Earlham is now on the road for its next two contests, at Bluffton on Oct. 17 and at Defiance on Oct. 24. Kickoff for both games is slated for 1:30 p.
