RICHMOND, Ind. – This week marks the 2026 NCAA DIII Week. The campaign celebrates Division III student athletes who make up the largest division in the NCAA.
All week long, the Earlham Student Athlete Advisory Committee will be hosting events to recognize our athletes. Additionally, spring sports athletes will be hosting takeover events on the SAAC page to shed light on the life of a DIII athlete.
MONDAY:
The first day of DIII week is also National Student Athlete Day. The SAAC page will be sharing student athlete highlights on social media. The DIII week canned food drive also begins on Monday. Student athletes can turn in cans to the athletic offices in the AWC, or to the student live office in Earlham Hall. SAAC is partnering with Circle U Richmond for donations.
TUESDAY:
Following the resounding success last year, the campus gear swap returns on Tuesday. Campus community members can bring any Earlham gear to the front of the AWC from 11am-1pm to swap with others. Earlham public safety will also be providing hot dogs at the baseball game against Principia at 4 pm.
WEDNESDAY:
Wednesday will bring the SAAC collaboration with Earlham's chapter of The Hidden Opponent. THO is a non-profit organization for athlete mental health advocacy, education, and support. For the collaboration, student athletes are encouraged to invite a professor or faculty member to join them for lunch on campus.
THURSDAY:
On Thursday, SAAC will be hosting a penalty kick shootout competition with help from the EC soccer teams. Kicks will get progressively harder as the competition continues, and the final three participants will receive a special DIII week swag bag.
FRIDAY:
SAAC will be hosting a glow dodgeball tournament on Friday in Druley Performance Gym starting at 7 pm. Teams of eight will compete under blacklights for bragging rights in a fun, friendly competition. Metz will be supplying ice cream during the tournament.
SATURDAY:
The final day of DIII Week has eight home games at the Sadler Athletic Complex. Men's and women's tennis opens the day with an HCAC tri-match against Rose-Hulman and Berea College. The Rose-Hulman match is slated for 11 am, while Berea is scheduled for 2 pm. The conference-leading Earlham baseball team returns to Sadler Stadium after sweeping Bluffton University on the road last weekend with a doubleheader against Berea starting at 12 pm. Lastly, softball hosts Rose-Hulman for Senior Day in Ellie Bewley Stadium. First pitch of the HCAC doubleheader is scheduled for 1 pm. The SAAC canned food drive will also conclude on Saturday.
