Evander Wells begins his first season as an assistant cross country and track & field coach at Earlham in 2017.

A former sprinter at the University of Tennessee, Wells will primarily instruct Earlham's jumpers and sprinters. He has spent the last three years as an assistant coach at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia. Working primarily with sprinters, Wells provided one-on-one coaching for athletes.

A four-year member of the Volunteers' track and field team, Wells' accomplishments as a student-athlete are many. He was a nine-time All-American and an 18-time Southeastern Conference (SEC) finalist as well as ranking in the top 10 in school history in the 60 (6.61), 100 (wind-aided 10.08), and 200-Meter (20.25) Dashes.

Wells qualified for six NCAA Championships during his Tennessee career as well as winning an SEC Championship as part of the 4-x-100-Meter Relay in 2007. A former member of the United States World Junior Team, Wells graduated from Tennessee in 2009.

Wells resides in Richmond.
