The 2022-23 season is CD Hockersmith's second campaign at the helm of the Earlham College men's golf program. Hockersmith served with the men's golf team as an associate coach during the 2021 season and helped guide the Quakers to a win in the second annual Sadler Invitational in their final round of the fall season.

Hockersmith is a Richmond, IN native and graduated from Richmond High School where he was a two-time All-State golf selection and helped lead the Red Devils to a 2003 State Championship.

He played collegiately for four years at Ball State University where he was a two time Academic All-American, second team All-MAC and team captain while earning a B.A. in Business Administration.

He has spent the past 12 years playing professionally on various tours and now brings his years of experience to the Quakers program. Coach Hockersmith resides in Richmond with his wife, Katie and their daughter, Millie Jane (3).

"I want to thank Anne Houtman, Adam Hutchinson, Nick Johnson and the search committee for this opportunity." Said Hockersmith. "Also, I would like to thank the Women's Head Coach, Sara Allen and Associate Men's Coach, Matt Brown for all of your help and guidance during the fall season. After working with the men's program the past few months and experiencing success by winning our last event of the fall, I am excited to build on that momentum for the spring season. We have seven first years and one junior so we are young, but their youth, passion and shared vision for getting better everyday is what impresses and excites me the most."
