Aaron Gustine will enter his eighth season at the helm of the storied Earlham College men's soccer program in 2026, after making the transition from long-time assistant to head coach in Spring 2019.

Gustine led the 2025 squad to a 4-0 win over Berea College on Senior Day for a conference win. Orin Gentner and Luke Hamaker were named to the third team All-HCAC after finishing in eighth place in the conference standings. 

The Quakers went 3-5-1 in conference play in 2024, with a seventh-place finish in the standings. Freshman goalkeeper Ryland Wamsley earned HCAC Athlete of the Week honors, and Gustine led Grant Courtad and Mason Paul to HCAC Third Team honors. The Quakers also placed two athletes on the CSC Academic All-District Team. 

The program jumped two spots in the HCAC Standings in 2023 after key conference wins over Franklin and Mount St. Joseph. Quentin Berry earned a second consecutive HCAC Second Team honor while Devin Fitzgibbon placed on the Honorable Mention squad. 

In 2022, the Quakers took a tournament win in the Raven/Quaker Classic, defeating Asbury and drawing with Berea to open the season. The team also picked up a conference win with a 2-1 result against Defiance. Forward Quentin Berry earned second team All-HCAC honors whule Braden Guinn was named an Honorable Mention.

Gustine coached Caleb Wilgen and Devin Fitzgibon to All-HCAC selctions in the 2021 season. 

During the COVID-impacted 2020-21 season, Gustine led the Quakers to a 2-8-0 record, 2-7-0 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) matches, with victories over Anderson and Bluffton. Senior Jeffrey Douyere and first year Quentin Berry were both tabbed for Honorable Mention All-HCAC honors

Gustine guided the Quakers to a 4-12-2 record in his first season as head coach, the program's best record in three seasons, with a 3-6-0 record and seventh-place finish in the HCAC. Jeffery Douyere and Andrew Belec both earned Honorable Mention All-HCAC accolades in Gustine's first season, marking the second straight season that the Quakers placed multiple players on the All-Conference teams.

Gustine was named head men's soccer coach on April 11, 2019, by Senior Director of Athletics Julie Kline, after four seasons as an assistant to previous head coach Sam Byrd.

"We are looking forward to seeing the level of excellence rise within our men's soccer program and the lives of our student-athletes transformed under Aaron's leadership," said Kline at the time of Gustine's hiring.

Gustine's time on the Earlham touchline includes the 2015 campaign, when the Quakers posted a 9-7-1 record, 6-2-1 in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference. Earlham finished third in the conference standings, earning the program's third berth in five seasons to the HCAC Men's Soccer Tournament.

Prior to his arrival at Earlham, Gustine served as an assistant coach at Emory & Henry College (Virginia) for the 2014 season.

Gustine graduated from Ferrum College (Virginia) with a degree in business and a minor in economics. A four-year letterman for the men's soccer program, Gustine set Ferrum career records for goals, assists, and points. For his efforts, Gustine was a three-time All-USA South honoree.

Gustine has coached club soccer for nine years. Currently he is working with Cincinnati United Premier's National League Pro and Elite 64 teams. He previously coached with Valley AFC out of Roanoke, Va. He currently holds USSF and USC coaching licenses.

Gustine resides in Richmond.
