WOOSTER,
Ohio — The Earlham College women's soccer team won its third straight contest on Saturday with a 3-1 victory over the
College of Wooster.
The victory makes the Quakers 2-17-1 against the Scots since Earlham joined the North Coast Athletic Conference in 1989. “This is a really big win for us,” Earlham Head Coach Jocelyn Keller said.
Earlham held a 2-0 lead at halftime of the contest after
Karman Duchon and
Rachel Dana each scored to put the Quakers on top.
Duchon's fifth goal of the season came at 28:45 with Dana's second tally of the fall was at 42:55.
Joy Doucette assisted on both scores.
In the second period,
Faye Rowell picked up her first goal of the year at 50:00 with
Callie Thompson assisting on the play. The Scots (8-2-4, 0-2-1) had their goal late in the match.
Wooster led 12-10 in shots and 4-2 in corner kicks. Earlham goalkeeper
Megan Holthaus had five saves for the Quakers.
The Quakers (9-3, 2-0) face
Denison University at home Wednesday. The NCAC match on Matlack Field starts at 4 p.m.
