SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — All of the scoring was in the first half on Wednesday night as the Earlham College men's soccer team defeated Wittenberg University 2-1 in a North Coast Athletic Conference match.
Irhad Strika scored what eventually would become the game-winner at the 37:56 mark with an assist from
Ryan Brand.
Nick Costello had the first goal of the contest at 4:00 to give the Quakers a 1-0 lead.
Will Katz was credited with an assist on the play. The Tigers (3-10-2, 2-3-1) scored at 15:48.
The Quakers had a 13-9 edge in shots, while
Wittenberg led 5-2 in corner kicks. Earlham goalkeeper
Kyle Thompson had four saves for the Quakers.
Earlham (7-5-3, 2-3-1) plays
Hiram College on Saturday during Homecoming Weekend. The NCAC match on Matlack Field starts at 3 p.m.
