Second Half Goals Give Quakers Victory

Box Score RICHMOND, Ind. — A pair of second half goals was all the Earlham College women's soccer team needed Tuesday as the Quakers posted a 2-0 victory over the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on Matlack Field.

JoBeth Buckley got the Quakers on the scoreboard first in the season opener with an unassisted goal at 68:27, while Cate Simmermaker added the second score at 72:45. Ikumi Doucette added the assist on the final goal.

Earlham had a 15-8 advantage in shots, while edging the Engineers (0-1) in corner kicks 5-3. Megan Holthaus had three saves in goal for the Quakers.

The Quakers (1-0) return to action at home on Friday against Adrian College in the El Rodeo Quaker/Raven Classic. The non-conference match gets underway at 4 p.m.
