TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — There was plenty of offense for the
Earlham College women's soccer team on Saturday as the Quakers defeated St. Mary-of-the
Woods College 7-0.
Earlham led 5-0 after the first period and added the other two goals in the second half.
Ikumi Doucette scored the first goal of the match on a free kick at 3:00. Two minutes later
Karman Duchon made it 2-0 with an assist from
Lauren Berry.
Allie Zellerscored the third goal of the contest at 10:00.
Joy Doucette made it 4-0 at 21:00 with Duchon assisting on the play.
The final goal of the first period was by
Evelyn Tandy, who got an assist from
Berry at 31:00.
The Quakers were scoreless in the second stanza until
Berry had an unassisted goal at 88:00.
Berry followed that play with an assist on Earlham's last goal by
Cate Simmermaker at 89:45.
The Quakers led 39-3 in shots and 10-0 in corner kicks. Goalkeeper
Megan Holthaus had one save in the first half, while
Kate Franks had two saves in the second period.
Earlham (4-1) meets
Anderson University Tuesday on Matlack Field. The non-conference match gets underway at 6 p.m.
