RICHMOND, Ind. — The Earlham College volleyball team dropped a pair of matches on Friday as the Quakers began play in the EC Quaker Classic on Schuckman Court in the Athletics and Wellness Center.
Principia University defeated Earlham 25-17, 25-27, 25-22, 25-22 in the opener. The Quakers (0-3) played the University of the Cumberlands in the final contest of the evening and fell 25-18, 25-16, 25-12.
Andrea Thompsonled the Quakers with 15 kills against Principia, while adding 15 digs. She also had six service aces. Nikki Darrettled the Quakers with 17 digs to go along with her nine kills.
Keeley McAnnis-Entenman led the Quakers with five kills against the University of the Cumberlands. Elizabeth Ross topped the squad with eight digs. Deborah Adkins had a team-high four blocks.
The EC Quaker Classic resumes today with matches beginning at 11 a.m.
