RICHMOND, Ind. — The
Earlham College men's basketball team dropped a North Coast Athletic Conference contest 73-49 to
Wabash College Wednesday night on
Schuckman Court in the Athletics and
Wellness Center.
A. J. Sutherlin led the Quakers with 13 points, while
Ryan Taylor and
Dustin Rusk added nine points each.
Rusk topped Earlham with five rebounds. Sutherlin and
Dorian Jenkins pulled down four rebounds apiece.
After falling behind early in the contest, the Quakers rallied to tie the game at 15-15 when Sutherlin scored with 10:01 left in the opening period.
Rusk gave the Quakers their first advantage of the stanza with a pair of free throws to make it 24-23 at the 4:24 mark. Unfortunately for Earlham, the Little Giants (8-5, 3-2) would eventually score the last 11 points of the half to lead 36-28 at intermission.
Wabash worked its way to a double-digit lead early in the second half as the Little Giants took command of the game.
Earlham (3-11, 1-5) is at the
College of Wooster on Saturday. The NCAC match up gets underway at 1 p.m.
