EC's Winning Streak Snapped

Box Score RICHMOND, Ind. — A goal with 12 seconds remaining was the difference Sunday afternoon as the Earlham College men's soccer team fell 2-1 to Transylvania University on Matlack Field.

With the score tied at 1-1, the Pioneers (10-2-2, 4-0-1) had a throw-in as the clocked ticked down and they managed to score in the final moments to keep themselves in first place in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference.

The loss ended Earlham's three-match winning streak and put the Quakers (6-8, 3-2) in a fifth-place tie with Manchester College in the HCAC standings.

Bannet Asingura (Mbarara, Uganda, United World College USA) gave the Quakers an early 1-0 advantage with a goal at 8:59. Michael Carroll (Fairfax, VA, Oldham County High School) assisted on the play. It was Asingura's fifth goal of the season.
