Earlham Falls in HCAC Contest

Box Score RICHMOND, Ind. — An own goal was the difference on Saturday as the Earlham College men's soccer team fell 1-0 to Manchester College as the Quakers celebrated Homecoming.

The decisive score came at 52:29 as an Earlham player was trying to execute a pass to the goalkeeper and the ball found its way into the goal.

Earlham led 14-5 in shots, but the Spartans (6-9-2, 5-2) managed a 4-3 edge in corner kicks. Goalkeeper Chris Marshall (Highland Park, NJ , Highland Park HS) had three saves for the Quakers.

The Quakers (7-9, 4-3) play their final home match of the fall on Wednesday against the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. The HCAC match is scheduled for 4 p.m.
