Earlham Ties Franklin in HCAC Match

Box Score FRANKLIN, Ind. — The Earlham College men's soccer team ended the season with a 1-1 tie in double overtime at Franklin College on Saturday.

After a scoreless opening period, the Quakers went on top 1-0 in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference match when Franklin had an own goal at 59:40.

Franklin (8-5-4, 5-1-3) tied the contest with a score at 68:27.

The Grizzlies led 14-8 in shots with a 4-3 margin in the two extra sessions. Franklin had a 5-3 edge in corner kicks with a 2-0 advantage in the overtimes.

Earlham goalkeeper Chris Marshall (Highland Park, NJ , Highland Park HS) had seven saves for the Quakers with one in each overtime.

The Quakers finish the season at 7-10-1 overall and 4-4-1 in the conference, which put them in sixth place in the HCAC standings.
