Quakers Visit HCAC Pre-Season Favorite Anderson

Box Score ANDERSON, Ind. — The Earlham College men's basketball team dropped a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference contest 95-50 on Saturday to pre-season league favorite Anderson University.

Ryan Taylor (Martinsville, IN, Martinsville) led the Quakers with 15 points, while Kyle Tucker (Vincennes, IN, Lincoln) added 10 points.

Justin Barger (Ellettsville, IN, Edgewood) finished with seven points and a team-high four rebounds.

Earlham had an early 4-2 advantage after Marcus Bledsoe (Indianapolis, IN, Ritter) scored with 18:03 left in the opening period.

Unfortunately for the Quakers, the Ravens (5-2, 3-1) went on a pair of large runs in the first half to take command of the contest.

From the time of Bledsoe's basket, Anderson scored 17 straight points before a pair of free throws by Tucker ended the run at 11:27 with the Ravens leading 19-6.

The next stretch for the Ravens was 12 points in a row to make it 31-6 at the 7:47 mark. Barger scored to end that run at 5:36.

By intermission, Anderson led 45-19 and the Quakers couldn't recover.

The Quakers (1-7, 0-4) return to action at home next Saturday against Kenyon College. The non-conference affair on Schuckman Court in the Athletics and Wellness Center gets underway at 3 p.m.
