SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — The
Earlham College men's basketball team dropped a 90-52 decision to North Coast Athletic Conference foe
Wittenberg University on Wednesday night.
Marty Broderick led the Quakers with 12 points, while
Dustin Rusk tossed in 10 points. Both players also finished with four rebounds.
Ryan Taylor contributed nine points with
Matt Marsh adding eight points and a team-high five rebounds.
The contest was tight early with the Quakers holding a small advantage in the opening period. Broderick gave the Quakers a 16-12 lead with a basket at the 12:32 mark.
Unfortunately for the Quakers,
Wittenberg grabbed the lead for good after five straight points as the Tigers made it 17-16 with 11:41 remaining in the first half. By intermission, the Tigers led 40-26.
In the second half, the Tigers (17-5, 9-4) were able to pull away for the victory.
Earlham (3-19, 1-12) entertains
Ohio Wesleyan University on Saturday. The NCAC game on
Schuckman Court gets underway at 3 p.m.
