LEXINGTON, Ky. — A pair of late goals hurt the Earlham College men's soccer team on Wednesday as the Quakers fell 2-1 in overtime to Transylvania University.
With Earlham leading 1-0 for most of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference contest against the first-place squad in the league, the Pioneers scored at 89:49 to tie the match.
Transylvania followed with the game-winner in the extra session at 92:59. The Pioneers are now 7-4-2, 4-0. Earlham is 3-10 overall and 2-2 in the HCAC, which has the Quakers tied for fourth with Defiance College and the College of Mount St. Joseph.
Irhad Strika (Bosnia-Herzegovina, United World College Mostar ) gave the Quakers their early advantage with an unassisted goal at 21:31. It was his second goal of the season.

Chris Marshall (Highland Park, NJ , Highland Park HS) had six saves for the Quakers.
The Quakers are at home on Saturday against Hanover College. The HCAC match on Matlack Field gets underway at 5 p.m.
