Box Score RICHMOND, Ind. — The Earlham College men's soccer team moved into a three-way tie for third place in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference on Saturday with a 2-0 victory over Hanover College on Matlack Field.

Earlham is now 4-10 overall with a 3-2 conference mark. Anderson University and the College of Mount St. Joseph have 3-2 records in the HCAC.

Ameer Yusuf (Ramallah, Palestine, Friends) put the Quakers on top in the opening stanza with an unassisted goal at 15:54. Yusuf now leads the Quakers with six goals this fall.

In the second half, Tamru Taye (Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Waterford Kamhlaba) scored on a penalty kick at 56:54 to give the Quakers their two-goal advantage.

The Quakers led 17-3 in shots, while trailing 6-4 in corner kicks.

Earlham goalkeeper Chris Marshall (Highland Park, NJ , Highland Park HS) had one save for the Quakers.

Next up for the Quakers is a home contest against Defiance College on Tuesday. The HCAC affair on Matlack Field starts at 4 p.m.
