RICHMOND, Ind. — First place.
The Earlham College women's soccer team moved into the top spot of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference on Saturday after the Quakers defeated Hanover College 1-0 on Matlack Field.
Earlham is now 8-4-1 overall, but more importantly the Quakers are 5-0 in the HCAC. Hanover is now 10-2-1 overall and 4-1 in the conference, after beginning the week ranked No. 5 in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America Great Lakes Region poll.
The victory was also the sixth straight for the Quakers which ties the school record for most wins in a row set in 2008 and 2010.
Joy Doucette (Berwyn Heights, MD, Eleanor Roosevelt) scored Earlham's goal on Saturday at 32:22 for her seventh of the season and 25th of her career.

Kate Franks (Hopewell, OH, West Muskingum ) recorded her third straight shutout as she had five saves for the Quakers. Franks now has six shutouts this fall and seven in her career.
The Quakers entertain Defiance College on Wednesday. The HCAC match gets underway at 4 p.m.
