TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — A tough loss on Wednesday hurt the Earlham College men's soccer team as the Quakers hoped to make the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament.
A 3-0 win by the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology moved the Quakers from fourth place to sixth in the conference standings. The top four teams make the post-season tourney.
The Engineers (13-5, 7-1), now in top spot in the HCAC, scored twice in the first half before adding the final tally in the second period.

Chris Marshall (Highland Park, NJ , Highland Park HS) had eight saves for the Quakers, who trailed 4-8 in shots. Rose-Hulman also had a 6-3 edge in corner kicks.
The Quakers (4-12-1, 3-4-1) end the regular season at home against Franklin College on Saturday. The HCAC contest on Matlack Field starts at 3 p.m.
