Late Goal by Yusuf Gives EC 1-0 HCAC Victory

Box Score CINCINNATI, Ohio — A late goal was the difference on Saturday as the Earlham College men's soccer team defeated the College of Mount St. Joseph 1-0 in a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference match.

Ameer Yusuf (Ramallah, Palestine, Friends) scored his team-high fifth goal of the season at 85:30 for the game-winner for the Quakers, who have won three of their last four contests.

The Lions (3-9, 1-2) led in shots 23-11, but the Quakers had a 4-2 advantage in corners.

Earlham goalkeeper Chris Marshall (Highland Park, NJ , Highland Park HS) had two saves to record his second shutout of the season for the Quakers.

The Quakers (3-9, 2-1) are on the road against Transylvania University on Wednesday. The HCAC match begins at 4 p.m.
