EC Visits Oberlin

Box Score OBERLIN, Ohio — The Earlham College men's basketball team fell 76-58 in its first road contest of the season on Saturday at Oberlin College.

Colton Bragg (Richmond, IN, Richmond) led the Quakers with 12 points, while Marty Broderick (Mooresville, IN, Mooresville) added nine points with team-high totals of seven rebounds and three assists.

Justin Barger (Ellettsville, IN, Edgewood) finished with eight points and six rebounds. Marcus Bledsoe (Indianapolis, IN, Ritter) tossed in eight points.

Oberlin (1-1) got off to an 11-4 lead after the Yeomen scored at the 17:19 mark.

The Quakers were able to cut into the deficit and make it 16-13 when Josh Green (Campbellsburg, IN, West Washington) scored at 12:36. After Oberlin scored again, Marcus Bledsoe hit a pair of free throws, which made it 18-15 at 10:38.

The Yeomen added a 3-pointer. Bragg followed with two free throws at 9:58 and the Quakers trailed 21-17.

At that point, Oberlin scored the next 16 points to go in front 37-17. Barger ended the run when he scored to make it 37-19 with 4:36 left.

The Yeomen were able to maintain their distance and lead 44-27 at halftime.

In the second period, Oberlin was able to hold onto its lead as the Quakers fought back. Green's 3-pointer made it 51-39 with 14:126 remaining in the non-conference affair.

The Quakers continued to battle as they closed the gap to 63-52 when Barger hit 1-of-2 free throws with 4:34 left. The rest of the way, Oberlin finished with a 13-6 run

Earlham (0-2) stays away from home on Sunday as the Quakers visit Denison University. The non-conference contest begins at 3 p.m.
