RICHMOND, Ind. — The Earlham College men's basketball team had three players in double figures on Saturday as the Quakers fell 75-54 to Bluffton University in the season finale.
Kyle Tucker (Vincennes, IN, Lincoln) led the Quakers with 15 points in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference contest on Schuckman Court in the Athletics and Wellness Center.
Dustin Rusk (Frankfort, IN, Clinton Prairie) tossed in 13 points, while
Colton Bragg (Richmond, IN, Richmond) added 12 points and six rebounds.
Marty Broderick (Mooresville, IN, Mooresville) also had six rebounds for the Quakers.
The Quakers got behind early in the contest at 13-4 with 17:29 remaining in the opening period, before they rallied to make it 13-9 when Justin Barger hit a 3-pointer at the 16:10 mark.
Rusk pulled the Quakers closer when a 3-pointer at 11:50 to make it 21-18.
Bluffton (15-10, 8-10) scored the next seven points to take a 28-18 advantage with 9:30 left in the first half. The Beavers were able to build a 42-24 lead by intermission.
In the second half, Earlham scored 10 straight points to begin the frame.
Josh Green (Campbellsburg, IN, West Washington) and Tucker both nailed 3-pointers before
Ryan Taylor (Martinsville, IN, Martinsville) scored twice to make it 42-34 with 17:49 remaining in the game.
The Beavers responded with an 8-2 run to take a 50-36 lead with 15:37 to go in the second half. When Rusk scored to make it 54-45 with 11:56 left, that was as close as the Quakers could get the rest of the way.
Earlham finishes the season at 2-23 overall and 0-18 in the HCAC.
