Quakers Participate in Tri-Match at Wilmington

WILMINGTON, Ohio — The Earlham College volleyball team split a pair of non-conference contests on Friday night in a tri-match at Wilmington College.

The Quakers began the evening with a 26-24, 25-19, 25-17 victory over Central State University before falling to Wilmington 27-25, 22-25, 25-18, 25-12.

Andrea Thompson (McCordsville, IN, Muncie Burris) led the Quakers with 11 kills in the win over Central State (0-8).

Ashlee Heberger (Fairport, NY, Fairport) had 21 assists, while Kazondra Ramos (Commerce, CA, El Rancho) had four service aces.

Jazmyn Corlew (Elyria, OH, Elyria) topped the squad with 13 digs. Thompson added nine digs and Ramos finished with eight.

Against Wilmington (9-8), Corlew led Earlham with 17 kills. Meg Huffmeyer (Osgood, Indiana, Jac-Cen-Del) added 11 kills.

Heberger had 35 assists. Ramos had six service aces.

Huffmeyer finished with 11 digs and Ramos contributed 10 digs.

The Quakers (3-12) entertain Defiance College on Wednesday. The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference match on Schuckman Court begins at 7 p.m.
