EC Visits Franklin

Box Score FRANKLIN, Ind. — The Earlham College men's basketball team dropped a 73-53 decision to Franklin College on Saturday afternoon.

Marty Broderick (Mooresville, IN, Mooresville) and Marcus Bledsoe (Indianapolis, IN, Ritter) led the Quakers with 12 points each in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference contest.

Broderick also had a team-high six rebounds to go with a pair of assists. Bledsoe finished with four rebounds.

Dustin Rusk (Frankfort, IN, Clinton Prairie) added nine points and four rebounds.

Marq Dixon (Indianapolis, IN, Pike) contributed five points, while Eric Messer (Indianapolis, IN, International) grabbed four rebounds.

Franklin (10-7, 7-3) grabbed an early 9-2 lead by the 16:46 mark of the opening period.

Later in the first half, the Quakers cut the deficit to 15-10 after Broderick scored at 11:53.

From that point, the Grizzlies were able to build a 39-22 advantage by intermission.

In the second half, the Grizzlies were able to hold off the Quakers for the win.

The Quakers (0-17, 0-10) entertain Bluffton University on Wednesday. The HCAC affair on Schuckman Court in the Athletics and Wellness Center gets underway at 7:30 p.m.
