Another Tie for Men's Soccer

Box Score RICHMOND, Ind. — For the fourth time this season, the Earlham College men's soccer team played to a tie.

On Saturday, the Quakers and Anderson University battled to a 0-0 tie in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference match on Matlack Field.

The tie equals the most in school history for a season. The other years when the Quakers had four ties were 1973 (7-4-4), 1988 (11-5-4) and 1990 (5-9-4).

The Quakers had a 15-8 advantage in shots, including a 5-1 edge in the second overtime when the Quakers just missed on some shot attempts.

Earlham led 10-9 in corner kicks with five coming in the second overtime.

Goalkeeper Chris Marshall (Highland Park, NJ , Highland Park HS) had four saves for the Quakers.

The Quakers (3-7-4, 1-0-4) are in fourth place in the HCAC standings.

Earlham visits Transylvania University on Wednesday. The HCAC affair begins at 4 p.m.
