LEXINGTON, Ky. — Three goals in the first half proved to be all the Earlham College women's soccer team would need on Wednesday as the Quakers beat Transylvania University 3-0.
With the victory, the Quakers (9-4-1, 5-0-1) maintain the top spot in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference. The Pioneers are in second place at 8-5-1, 4-2.
Ikumi Doucette (Berwyn Heights, MD, Eleanor Roosevelt) scored the first goal for the Quakers at 17:22.
Joy Doucette (Berwyn Heights, MD, Eleanor Roosevelt) followed with an unassisted score at 26:27 to give the Quakers a 2-0 lead.
Elizabeth Richards (Marysville, WA, Stanwood) scored Earlham's final tally of the night at 39:35 with an assist from Joy Doucette.
Joy Doucette has nine goals and seven assists as she leads the HCAC with 25 points. In her career, she has 36 goals and 30 assists for 102 points. She is tied for second place with Hillary Carter in career goals at Earlham and is the second woman to reach 100 points. Karman Duchon holds the Earlham record for career points with 141.

Earlham entertains Manchester University on Saturday during Homecoming Weekend. The HCAC match on Matlack Field starts at 1 p.m.
