First Half Goals Hurt Quakers

Box Score TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — A pair of goals late in the first half hurt the Earlham College men's soccer team on Wednesday as the Quakers visited the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.

The Engineers (11-4-3, 7-0-1) scored at 41:20 and 43:13 to take the lead by halftime of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference contest on their way to a 2-1 victory.

Evan Elko (Summit, NJ, Summit HS) scored Earlham's goal at 85:01 with an assist from Alex Ferreira (Richmond, IN, Richmond).

Rose-Hulman led 11-9 in shots and 7-2 corner kicks.

Earlham goalkeeper Chris Marshall (Highland Park, NJ , Highland Park HS) had four saves for the Quakers.

The Quakers (3-9-5, 1-2-5) finish the season at home on Saturday against the College of Mount St. Joseph. The Senior Day match on Matlack Field is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
