Quakers End Fall Against Lions

Box Score RICHMOND, Ind. — A pair of goals in the first half proved too much to overcome for the Earlham College men's soccer team on Saturday as the Quakers fell 2-1 to the College of Mount St. Joseph.

The Lions (4-12-1, 2-6) scored at 21:48 and 36:00 to lead by two goals at intermission of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference match.

Evan Elko (Summit, NJ, Summit HS) picked up Earlham's goal at 77:24 off a rebound after a save by the Lion goalkeeper as the Quakers celebrated Senior Day on Matlack Field.

The Quakers led 12-11 in shots, while the corner kicks were even at 4-4.

Earlham goalkeeper Chris Marshall (Highland Park, NJ , Highland Park HS) had four saves for the Quakers.

In addition to Elko and Marshall, Holden Bucher (Saint Joseph, IL, LISC), Felipe Buitrago (Bogota, Colombia, United World College USA), Iqbal Banwal (Kabal, Afganistan, International - Amani High School), Eric Frysinger (Glenmorre, PA, Ursinus) and Fadee Disoke (Jerusalem, Israel, Friends Boys School) were the seniors in uniform for the last time on Saturday.

The Quakers end the season at 3-10-5 overall and 1-3-5 in the HCAC.
