RICHMOND, Ind. — The Earlham College men's soccer team tied for the second straight match on Wednesday as the Quakers finished with a 1-1 double overtime decision against Defiance College.
The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference match on Matlack Field was scoreless after the first period.
Evan Elko gave the Quakers a 1-0 with an unassisted goal at the 48:55 mark for his first score of the season.
The Yellow Jackets (1-10-1, 1-0-1) tied the contest with a score at 77:32.
In the extra sessions, the Quakers led 4-0 in shots with the corner kicks even at 1-1.
For the match, the Quakers had a 13-8 advantage in shots, while Defiance held a 7-6 edge in corner kicks.

Chris Marshall (Highland Park, NJ , Highland Park HS) had six saves for the Quakers with five coming in the second half.
The Quakers (2-7-2, 0-0-2) return to action on Saturday against Bluffton University. The contest, originally scheduled for Bluffton, has been moved to Richmond. It will be on Matlack Field at 3 p.m. The Earlham-Bluffton women's match was also switched to Richmond and will start at 1 p.m.
