RICHMOND, Ind. — The Earlham College men's basketball team returned home on Saturday as the Quakers fell 98-75 to Anderson University.
Joe Adams (Laurel, IN, Franklin County) led the Quakers with 21 points in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference contest on Schuckman Court in the Athletics and Wellness Center.
Dustin Rusk (Frankfort, IN, Clinton Prairie) tossed in 14 points, while
Jack O'Flaherty (Sheridan, IN, Sheridan) added 13 points against the Ravens (4-4, 2-2).
Kristian Barden (Detroit, MI, Pershing) pulled down a game-high nine rebounds as Adams and
Phillip Boone (Detroit, MI, Renaissance) had five rebounds each. Kevin Savage handed out five assists.
The Quakers got off to a quick start as they built a 5-0 advantage after
Blake Welch (Lynn, IN, Randolph Southern) nailed a 3-pointer and
Marty Broderick (Mooresville, IN, Mooresville) hit a pair of free throws by the 17:37 mark.
Anderson then scored 13 straight points to take a 13-5 lead with 15:19 left in the opening stanza.
From that time, the Quakers were able to cut the deficit to one point twice with the last coming at 7:55 when Adams scored.
By intermission, the Ravens widened their margin to 48-34. They were able to maintain the edge the rest of the way.
Earlham (1-9, 0-4) is idle until the Quakers entertain Kenyon College on Sunday, Dec. 30. The non-conference affair gets underway at 3 p.m.
