Quakers Score Twice in Second Half to Beat Franklin

Box Score FRANKLIN, Ind. — Two goals in the second half made the difference on Saturday as the Earlham College women's soccer team posted a 3-2 victory at Franklin College.

Joy Doucette (Berwyn Heights, MD, Eleanor Roosevelt) scored the game-winner at the 77:38 mark with an assist from Ikumi Doucette (Berwyn Heights, MD, Eleanor Roosevelt).

Paige Thomas (Bel Air, MD, Baltimore Friends School) tied the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference match with the initial score of the second half at 66:32.

The Grizzlies (3-4, 0-1) had a 2-0 advantage in the first half when Ikumi Doucette scored the first goal of the contest for the Quakers at 34:24.

Earlham led 18-13 in shots, while Franklin held a 7-5 advantage in corner kicks. Earlham goalkeeper Ashley (A.J.) Johnson (Columbus, OH, Ohio Virtual Academy) had five saves for the Quakers.

The Quakers (5-4, 1-0) face Defiance College at on Wednesday. The HCAC match on Matlack Field starts at 4 p.m.
