RICHMOND, Ind. — The Earlham College volleyball team dropped a pair of matches in the Quaker Best Way Disposal Classic on Saturday.
Indiana University-Kokomo opened the event with a 25-17, 25-14, 29-27 win over the Quakers. Earlham fell 24-26, 25-21, 25-11, 26-24 to Ohio Wesleyan University later in the evening.
Ashley Hedrick (Rushville, IN, Rushville) and
Jazmyn Corlew (Elyria, OH, Elyria) led the Quakers in the first contest with eight kills each.
Heather Hayden (St. Paul, IN, North Decatur) added five kills.
Ashlee Heberger (Fairport, NY, Fairport) had 20 assists, while
Meg Huffmeyer (Osgood, IN, Jac-Cen-Del) topped the squad with seven digs. .
Kazondra Ramos (Commerce, CA, El Rancho),
Keely Skehan (San Francisco, CA, Drew) and Corlew had six digs apiece. Corlew had a team-high four blocks.
Against Ohio Wesleyan, Corlew had 13 kills with Huffmeyer adding seven kills. Heberger had 27 assists. Ramos had 16 digs.
The Quakers (2-5) resume play on Sunday against Finlandia University at 9 a.m. The finish the tournament against Oberlin College at 11 a.m.
