HANOVER, Ind. — The Earlham College men's basketball team played at Hanover College on Saturday as the Quakers fell 86-51.
Dustin Rusk (Frankfort, IN, Clinton Prairie) led the Quakers with 11 points in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference affair.
Jack O'Flaherty (Sheridan, IN, Sheridan) tossed in eight points with five rebounds, while
Kirk Douglas (Cleveland, OH, John Hay) added eight points off the bench.
Kristian Barden (Detroit, MI, Pershing) led the Quakers with eight rebounds.
Hanover (9-6, 6-2) got off to a 12-5 advantage by the 16:38 mark of the opening half.
O'Flaherty got the Quakers closer with a 3-pointer at 16:11.
The Panthers followed with a 13-1 run to go on top 25-9 with 13:06 left.
Earlham rallied to close the gap to 40-27 by intermission.
In the second half, Hanover started with the first six points before Rusk drilled a 3-pointer to make it 46-30 with 16:46 remaining. The Panthers were able to maintain their distance the rest of the way.
The Quakers (2-13, 1-7) are at home on Wednesday as they entertain Defiance College. The HCAC contest on Schuckman Court in the Athletics and Wellness Center gets underway at 7:30 p.m.
