Quakers Fall to Yellow Jackets

Box Score RICHMOND, Ind. — The Earlham College men's basketball team fell 92-66 on Wednesday to Defiance College.

Dustin Rusk (Frankfort, IN, Clinton Prairie) led the Quakers with 15 points and eight rebounds in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference contest on Schuckman Court in the Athletics and Wellness Center.

Blake Welch (Lynn, IN, Randolph Southern) added 12 points. Jack O'Flaherty (Sheridan, IN, Sheridan) finished with nine points.

Tyler Lewers (Indianapolis, IN, Gary West) tossed in eight points as Vadial Jett (Richmond, IN, Richmond) handed out six assists.

The Quakers were able to work their way to an early 8-6 against the Yellow Jackets (10-6, 6-3).

However, after Rusk hit a pair of free throws to tie the game at 10-10 with 14:53 left in the opening half, Defiance scored six straight points to take a 16-10 lead.

The Yellow Jackets were able to wide their margin to build a 41-28 lead by intermission.

In the second half, Defiance was able to maintain its distance from the Quakers as the Yellow Jackets picked up the win.

Earlham (2-14, 1-8) remains at home on Saturday as they welcome conference foe Franklin College to Schuckman Court at 3 p.m.
