Quakers Fall at Home

Box Score RICHMOND, Ind. — The Earlham College men's basketball team fell 82-61 Wednesday night to Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference foe Bluffton University on Schuckman Court in the Athletics and Wellness Center.

Dustin Rusk (Frankfort, IN, Clinton Prairie) led the Quakers with 15 points as he added two assists and a pair of steals.

Kristian Barden (Detroit, MI, Pershing) tossed in 11 points and finished with a team-high eight rebounds.

Blake Welch (Lynn, IN, Randolph Southern) scored 10 points, while Jack O'Flaherty (Sheridan, IN, Sheridan) ended with nine points.

The game was tied early with a 6-6 score at the 15:22 mark of the opening stanza.

Bluffton (5-9, 1-6) scored six straight points to take a 12-6 lead with 13:47 to go.

Tyler Lewers (Indianapolis, IN, Gary West) cut the deficit to 13-12 when he scored for the Quakers with 9:52 remaining.

The Beavers went on another run scoring seven in a row to go on top 20-12 with 9:52 left.

The margin stayed the same as the Beavers led 38-30 by halftime.

In the second half, Bluffton was able to widen its lead to double figures on the way to the win.
 
The Quakers (2-12, 1-6) return to action on Saturday at Hanover College. The HCAC contest begins 1 p.m.
