RICHMOND, Ind. â€" A header off a corner kick by Mussa Ibrahim on Saturday was all the Earlham men's soccer team would need to stay on top in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference standings.
The Quakers finished the afternoon with a 1-0 victory over Bluffton University on Matlack Field.
Earlham is 7-6 overall, but the Quakers remain undefeated in the conference at 3-0. Earlham, Hanover College and the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology are tied for the top spot in the HCAC.
After a scoreless first half, the Quakers picked up a quick goal in the second half at 46:58 against the Beavers (0-10, 0-3).
David Jones hit the corner kick in front of the goal and Ibrahim used his head to put the Quakers on top.
Earlham goalkeeper Sam Embry was needed for just one save in the second half as the Quakers led 9-3 in shots for the match and 6-0 in corner kicks.
The Quakers visit Hanover on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
