Quakers Fall at Hanover

Box Score HANOVER, Ind. â€" The Earlham College men's soccer team fell from first place in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference on Tuesday after a 3-2 loss at Hanover College.

The Quakers are now 7-7 overall and 3-1 in the conference. Hanover is now alone in the top spot at 8-5-1, 4-0. The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology is in second place at 6-4-2 and 3-0.

The Panthers grabbed an early advantage on Tuesday with the first score coming at 1:18.

An unassisted goal by Jacob Ebbs tied the contest at 41:37 to make it 1-1 at the intermission. It was the third goal of the season for Ebbs.

Ameer Yusuf scored his eighth goal of the season to give the Quakers a 2-1 lead in the second half at 56:42.

Hanover made it 2-2 at 59:08 before getting the game-winning score at 70:44.

The Quakers led 14-12 in shots, while the corners were even at 4-4.

Earlham goalkeeper Sam Embry had three saves for the Quakers.

The Quakers are back in action on Saturday at Manchester University. The HCAC contest begins at 3 p.m.
