Quakers Blank Spartans

Box Score NO. MANCHESTER, Ind. â€" The Earlham College men's soccer team remained in third place in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference standings on Saturday after a 3-0 victory at Manchester University.

Overall, the Quakers are 8-7 and 4-1 in the HCAC. Hanover College leads the conference with a 9-5-1, 5-0 record. The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology is in second place at 7-4-3, 4-01

Jacon Ebbs put the Quakers on top with an unassisted goal at 8:12 against the Spartans (1-11-2, 0-5). It was the fourth goal of the fall for Ebbs.

In the second half, the Quakers took command with a goal by Felicien Muyumba at 49:48. Muyumba now has four goals this season. Earlham goalkeeper Sam Embry was credited with an assist on the play.

Salvadore Rivas capped the scoring for the Quakers with his first goal of the year at 70:26.  

Embry had three saves for the Quakers, who now has four shutouts this season. Earlham led 14-9 in shots and 4-3 in corner kicks.

The Quakers play at home on Tuesday against Transylvania University. The HCAC match on Matlack Field starts at 4 p.m.
