Quakers Now Second in HCAC Standings

Box Score RICHMOND, Ind. â€" The Earlham College men's soccer team moved into second place in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference on Tuesday as the Quakers picked up a 3-1 victory over Transylvania University on Matlack Feild.

Earlham is 9-7 overall and 5-1 in the conference. The Pioneers are 10-3-2 and 3-2-1 and still in fourth place. Hanover College is in first place at 9-5-1 overall and 5-0 in the HCAC.  

In the opening half on Tuesday, the Quakers scored first at 16:28 when TiQi Brown found the goal with an assist from Tamru Taye. Transylvania eventually tied the match at 25:33.

Later in the first period, Jacob Ebbs put the Quakers on top for good with an unassisted goal an 39:09.

Felicien Muyumba capped the scoring for the Quakers with an unassisted goal at 72:37.

The Quakers led in shots 14-13, while the Pioneers had an 9-1 advantage in corner kicks.  

Earlham goalkeeper Sam Embry had five saves for the Quakers.

The Quakers return to action on Saturday at Anderson University. The HCAC affair gets underway at 3:30 p.m.
