Late Score Hurts Quakers

Box Score RICHMOND, Ind. â€" The Earlham College women's soccer team played its final home contest of the season on Tuesday as the Quakers fell 2-1 to the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on Matlack Field.

The Engineers (10-4-4, 6-2) scored first in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference contest with a goal at 14:36.

The Quakers were able to tie the match late in the first half. Annie Frodeman scored on a corner kick at 39:09 with Kelly Mayhew picking up the assist.

Rose-Hulman scored the game-winning goal at 75:56.

Earlham goalkeeper A.J. Johnson had one save as the Quakers led 15-6 in shots. The corner kicks were even at 5-5.

The Quakers (2-11-2, 1-6-1) finish the season at the College of Mount St. Joseph on Saturday. The HCAC affair gets underway at 1 p.m.
