EC Visits DePauw

Box Score GREENCASTLE, Ind. â€" A comeback in the second half came out short on Thursday as the Earlham College women's soccer team fell 3-2 at DePauw University.

Trailing by three goals in the second period, the Quakers got on the scoreboard twice to close the gap.

Kelly Mayhew scored her third goal of the season at 50:19 with an assist from Gia Casaburo to make it 3-1.

Moments later, Christine Page scored on a header at 54:38 off a corner kick by Mayhew. Casaburo had Earlham's only shot on goal after the score at 67:26.

The Tigers (1-4) scored at the 2:01 mark of the first half before adding goals at 33:08 and 40:49 to build a 3-0 lead by the intermission.

DePauw led 19-8 in shots and 10-3 in corner kicks.

Earlham goalkeeper A.J. Johnson had seven saves for the Quakers.

The Quakers (0-2-1) visit Wilmington College on Wednesday. The non-conference affair begins at 7 p.m.
